The leadership team brings together decades of experience across engineering, finance, and energy project development. With a track record spanning clean technologies, infrastructure financing, and global project execution, the team combines deep technical knowledge with commercial insight.
Richard Heien brings over 40 years of experience in the development, acquisition, engineering, construction, operation, and financing of energy-related assets. He previously served as President and principal owner of Northern Engineering Inc., co-founder and President of MaxWest Environmental Systems, Vice President of Enron Engineering and Construction, and President of EPIC Clean Technologies Corporation. He also served as Managing Director at MaxEn Capital, focusing on clean energy project development and investment.
Ali Abbasi – Vice President, Chief Technical Officer
Dr. Ali Abbasi has more than 30 years of experience leading international energy and infrastructure projects. His expertise spans project & process development, engineering, and financing support for advanced energy systems, including gasification of solid feedstocks, methanol, hydrogen, carbon capture, syngas, ammonia, and thermal power. He has held senior technical and leadership positions at KBR Inc., EPCI Clean Technologies, and MaxEn Capital, contributing to the successful execution of large-scale clean energy initiatives worldwide.
Brian Heien – Vice President, Finance & Administration
Brian Heien brings 20 years of experience in business and financial analysis for energy and infrastructure projects. He currently serves as Vice President of Financial Analysis for the MaxEn Companies, supporting project development, investment evaluation, and strategic planning. Prior to this role, he was a Senior Financial Analyst at NRG Energy, where he focused on financial modeling and performance assessment across a range of energy assets.
Lonnie W. Smith – Vice President of Engineering
Lonnie Smith is a seasoned industry leader with over 35 years of experience in Sustainables, Hydrocarbon/Refining, Natural Gas Processing, Specialty Chemicals, Industrial Gas, and Power. He has held senior roles in Operations, Technical Sales, and Business Development, with expertise spanning EPFC, project management, and conceptual design for process plants, facilities, and pipelines. His career includes leadership positions at ENGlobal, Ref-Chem (Burns & McDonnell), Wood, AECOM, Linde Engineering, Air Products & Chemicals, and Shell. Lonnie holds a B.S. and an MBA from the University of Houston–Clear Lake.
Peter Jalkotzy – Vice President of Business Development / Strategic Advisor, Infrastructure & Regulatory Systems
Peter Jalkotzy is an energy and environmental strategist with over 45 years of experience delivering major infrastructure projects across North America and beyond. Founder and CEO of NextGen Power Group, he develops hybrid energy systems that repurpose legacy assets into low-carbon solutions. With expertise spanning wildlife biology, environmental law, and regulatory systems, Peter bridges science, strategy, and policy to drive scalable, real-world impact.
Stan Galanski – Vice President of Business Development
Stan Galanski is an accomplished professional with a background in Engineering and Information Technology, and a successful career in sales and business development across Aerospace, Manufacturing, and Oil & Gas. He has worked on U.S. Government defense and space programs, led technology deployments for the Refinery of the Future Project in Houston, and managed global IT contractor teams. With extensive international project experience across Industry and Humanitarian Projects, Stan excels in uniting diverse teams to deliver impactful solutions.
